Happy Monday everyone! After last weeks changeable weather, not knowing whether it was Spring or Winter, we’re hoping we can brighten the start of your week with some more additions to our Luxe Love Line Up! Today I’m giving you an insight into the minds of Carmella Pugh, professional wedding singer and Aimie, from Made by Mimi! Both of these wonderful ladies will be joining us at our Luxe Love Wedding Fair to get you inspired. But before you meet them there, I’ve been asking them some questions so we can all get to know them a little better...
What is your favourite thing about or moment at a wedding?
Carmella: Definitely first looks between the happy couple - especially if they’re seeing each other in their wedding attire for the first time. It’s amazing!
Aimie: Loving the use of metallics on cakes this year. It looks so decadent and pretty. Can be used with the geometric trend for a stark and striking look or with soft pastel shades of flowers for a soft and romantic look. Just beautiful!
Whose wedding do you wish you could work on (dead or alive!)?
Carmella: Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer - they wed in 1954 in a tiny chapel in a remote part of Switzerland, they then transported guests up into their exclusive private chalet on their mountain for the wedding breakfast. Can you imagine how unbelievable it would have been? They wanted a very private and intimate affair and she looked incredible
Aimie: I'll give you one for both! I would have loved to have worked on Elvis' wedding to Priscilla. It would have been a fab musical affair and I just love the 50s!!
And to be able to work on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding would be an amazing experience. She has such amazing style and they both appear incredibly laid-back and down-to-earth, they would be a pleasure to work with. I would incorporate so much of their flair and experiences together into the cake design and make something that is one of a kind and very them.
Money no object, what one thing would you have at your wedding?
Carmella: I’d have someone like John Legend sing at my ceremony and Bruno Mars and Tina Turner for my evening reception and Dita Von Teese performing burlesque in a giant martini glass!!
Aimie: A toastmaster and Annie Leibovitz as our photographer! I know that's two and a Toastmaster is more of a regret than a money no object! A toastmaster would have made the day run more smoothly and ensure that nobody missed events (like my mum at the cutting of the cake!). The venue just rushed things a bit too much for us.
I love Carmella’s money-no-object picks, what an amazing wedding that would be!! I also have to agree with Aimie, that Elvis and Priscilla’s wedding would be an awesome one to work on! ’
Really excited to have these ladies join us in April for the Luxe Love Wedding Fair. It’s going to be a fabulous day of wedding inspiration for the luxurious, quirky and the curious so don’t miss out! We’ll see you between 10am and 3pm on Sunday 22nd April!
Our next additions to the Luxe Love Line Up will be revealed on Friday, so have a good week and I'll see you then!
